THREE FREE LABS. ONE PLACE TO PRACTICE.

Know the theory.
Type the commands.

Build confidence at the command line. Practice VLANs, static routes, and OSPF in short, hands-on challenges made for CCNA preparation.

SW1 · CONSOLE PREVIEWVLAN LAB

A little less memorizing. A little more doing.

SW1> enable
SW1# configure terminal
Enter configuration commands, one per line.
SW1(config)# vlan 10
SW1(config-vlan)# name USERS
SW1(config-vlan)#

THE STARTER COLLECTION

Three skills. Three challenges.

Start anywhere. Work at your own pace.

01 / SWITCHINGFREE

VLANs & trunks

Connect two switches. Put users in the right VLAN, then make sure the trunk carries their traffic.

  • Create VLAN 10 and configure access ports
  • Build an 802.1Q trunk between switches
  • Verify membership and save your work
2 switches · 7-min challengeObjectives 2.1 / 2.2
Start VLAN lab

Ready when you are

02 / ROUTINGFREE

Static routing

Give a branch a path forward—and a backup. Configure network, host, default, and floating routes.

  • Choose the correct destination and mask
  • Set a backup administrative distance
  • Check the route table and return path
2 routers · 7-min challengeObjective 3.3
Start routing lab

Ready when you are

03 / DYNAMIC ROUTINGFREE

Single-area OSPF

Bring two routers together. Establish a neighbor relationship and advertise each branch LAN.

  • Configure process 1 and router IDs
  • Advertise networks in area 0
  • Keep LAN interfaces passive and verify
2 routers · 7-min challengeObjective 3.4
Start OSPF lab

Ready when you are

A SMALL, REPEATABLE ROUTINE

Inspect.
Configure.
Verify.

Use guided mode while learning. Switch to a timed challenge when you’re ready to work without hints.

  1. 01

    Read the mission

Review the topology, addressing plan, and objectives. Identify the required end state before entering commands.

  2. 02

    Work in the terminal

Switch between devices. Use command abbreviations, Tab completion, context help, and command history.

  3. 03

    Check and understand

Run verification commands, check your configuration, and use a hint or walkthrough when you need one. Reset and try again.

BEFORE YOU START

A focused practice tool.

Original exercises aligned to Cisco’s public CCNA 200-301 v1.1 objectives. This free beta models a supported set of commands; it does not run a Cisco IOS image or reproduce actual exam questions.

Best used on a computer with a keyboard. Scores and configurations stay in this browser. Clearing browser storage removes that progress.

What does “seven minutes” mean?

It’s a practice target. Cisco describes performance-based labs as designed for 5–7 minutes, but the exam does not impose a separate timer on each lab. Guided practice lets you continue after the target.

Is this a full CCNA preparation course?

No. These three exercises cover selected switching and routing skills. Combine them with study across the full blueprint and practice on Cisco networking tools or equipment.

What if a command is unsupported?

Open Command reference inside the lab to see the supported commands. The simulator returns an error for commands outside its scope; that does not necessarily mean the command is invalid on a real device.
